Sharing the Learning
As mentioned in the information sent out on reporting to parents, we are trying out the idea of House Coffee Mornings . We have had one successful house coffee morning already this term for Corbiehill and are planning three more. These will be held on a Wednesday between 9 and 10 am in the school hall.
Wednesday 27th Barnton
Wednesday 3rd Silverknowes
Wednesday 10th Corbiehill
The idea behind this is to provide parents with another opportunity to sharing their child’s learning by providing time and space for them to sit with their child and share their learning journal and their profile jotter. We hope some of you may be able to come along and enjoy this opportunity but understand that it may not be possible for all parents to do so. We will continue to send home the learning jotters as previously for all parents
You will be provided with a coffee or tea and biscuits and asked to sit at a table. Your child or children will then be brought to you. There will be an opportunity for you to give your child some written feedback on their learning as well as comment on the process.
The Profile Jotter which we do not send home, is a longitudinal record of a child’s learning, captured over two separate weeks during the year. This captures their latest and best work and allows both staff, children and parents to see the progress that the child is making over their school career. At the end of their primary seven year these jotters will be sent home for parents to keep.
